Owners Joanne and Ross Currie took over Splash Cafe almost 30 years ago with numerous iterations on their amazing chowder over the years. They’ve perfected their clam chowder over time that they’ve built a giant following where they make up to 30,000 gallons of chowder a year!

It tends to get busy on the weekends here, so don’t be surprised if there is a line snaking out the door when you get here. It’s totally worth any wait!

Pro-tip: You can order online and do a pickup order if you don’t want to wait in line. Take the chowder and eat it at the beach!

Now the hardest part is deciding what size chowder and which toppings to get!

I personally love getting the bread bowl and topping it with bacon, green onions, and seafood. The bread bowl is hollowed up with the top grilled in butter so you can use it to dip into the chowder. If you still have room leftover, you can eat the bread bowl too!

Seating can be hard to find in this tiny restaurant, so you might have to squeeze next to other patrons or better yet just order to go and eat on the beach!
