Solvang Restaurants - Where To Eat
If you’ve stopped by Solvang before and considered it a one trick pony of Danish bakeries and architecture, things have changed in the past 5-6 years with the emergence of modern restaurants run by famous chefs, artisan coffee shops, beautiful hotels, and great wineries.
So if you're on a road trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco or just taking a day trip, here are some of our favorite places to have coffee, eat a nice meal, have Danish food, or sample local wine.

Easily at the level of best bakeries in San Francisco and Los Angeles, Bob’s Well Bread is worth the short drive to Los Alamos (20 mins).
Located in an adorable converted gas station, this hugely popular spot has a full menu including breakfast sandwiches, wood fired pizzas, and all the delicious baked bread and pastries your heart can adore.
The kouign-amann, almond croissants, and pain-au-chocolat are absolutely divine.
Offering fresh, modern Italian fare in a beautiful California farmhouse - owner/chef Luca Crestanelli hails from Verona, Italy. The food at SY Kitchen is inspired by his Italian heritage, local produce, and delicious flavors.
The bar is run by mixologist Albert Battaglini, also a native of Verona, and an expert at cocktails.

If you’re looking for some delicious handmade sausages from all over the world to pair with a beer, this is a great place!
Choices range from Bratwursts, Chorizo, Kielbasa, Italian, and also great vegetarian choices like Chicken Apple.
Make sure to to check out the amazing sauce bar because you’ll be wanting to slather everything down with them! I really liked the creole and horseradish mustard sauces!

First & Oak is a European restaurant located in a boutique hotel that serves up some of the most beautifully plated dishes in the region. The main chef has worked in many Michelin starred restaurants and it really shows in the amazing creations and artistry in each plate.
Opened by a coffee fanatic and a certified Q Grader, Brad and Leyla Williams operates one of the best coffee shops in the area with fastidious attention to detail, amazing coffee and tea options, and a beautiful ambiance inside.
Heath Ceramics made some specially designed coffee cups for the cafe.
In addition, there is on-tap Nitro cold brew and Whalebird Kombucha for cold drink options.

Drop by this stylish eatery, located in the Landsby Hotel, for their excellent bar menu. Happy hour from 4-6 PM daily is a great time to try the food here.

Formed by a superstar, veteran team of winemakers, this appointment only winery recently opened in 2018 and offers a spectacular tasting experience that ranges from a seated tasting for $30 and can include a catered lunch from SY Kitchen for $90.
This architectural gem reminiscent of the French countryside with its lavender and rosemary filled courtyard and barrel aging caves.
Stop by to check out the beautiful grounds and book a wine tasting if you’d like. The whole estate vineyard is also 100% organic with grapes ranging from merlot, cabernet, franc, viognier, and syrah.
